Modular Recreation Facility Project Overview

Summerset Retirement Village in Cranbourne North is designed to offer a relaxed, connected lifestyle, with convenient access to shopping centres, medical services, cafés, and everyday amenities.

As part of the broader development, which includes more than 200 independent living units and over 100 assisted-living suites, there was a need for a functional, high-quality communal space that could be delivered quickly during the construction phase.

A 12m × 20m modular Perth structure was utilised to create a fully equipped recreation facility, designed to support daily activities and resident wellbeing from the early stages of the village’s development.

The Challenge

The project required a solution that could:

  • Provide an immediate communal space for residents

  • Deliver comfort and accessibility in a temporary setting

  • Maintain high-quality finishes consistent with the overall development

  • Be installed efficiently without impacting ongoing construction

Traditional construction timelines did not align with the need for early-stage community activation, making a modular approach the most effective option.

Internally, the space is configured to maximise natural light and usability, creating a welcoming and practical environment suited to everyday use.
